The Darlings are in business!

Charming Friends,

Welcome to our new website! It is brand sparkling new - and as such isn't completely there just yet, we have content to add and will do so over time. However we hope you will bookmark us and come back from time to time to see what's new.

Darla and Blossom feel pretty good about 2009, and have decided to get focussed and make a few dreams come true. Darla, with her canine support crew, is sewing up a storm - stand by for her very own beautiful line of accessories! They are designed to flatter, fabulise, and enhance your classic favourites. We love accessories. They can make an old outfit new. They won't break the bank but they might well earn you a few compliments ... Don't forget that Darla is always on hand to offer her fashion and style advice as well.

Blossom has demanded the Captain's assistance in setting up this adorable new web-boudoir for the sisters: and the Captain (bless him) has been tremendously helpful. We approached the fabulous and friendly Matt Huynh (www.matthuynh.com) who designed our beautiful new logo (above - isn't it just gorgeous? He's an angel!)

Along with the Lovely Lisa of ShutterBug Baby, and our friends from the Sophisticates, we intend to make 2009 our Year of Charm. Why now? Yes indeedy - the world's economy is less perky than usual. And do you know what? We're very aware of the fact that our parents and grandparents and great-grandparents have been through worse than this before. We are in a great position to learn a lot from them, the wonderful, wonderful people that they are.

What sort of lessons can we learn, about a world in which purses are light and credit cards heavy, water and fuel are becoming rarer by the moment, and it had become abundantly clear that the world needs a lot more love, sweet love?

How about this: Make Do and Mend (go through your wardrobe and think, what can I do with this? rather than race out for more. Accessorise, don't replace!). Eat for Victory (local, healthy produce, grown with care and appreciated, every single bit made the most of). Whistle While you Work (trite as it sounds, we could all appreciate what we have and try to stay positive about it.) Care for each other, value the things that we do have and try not to fret about the things we don't. Invest in each other.

And this is precisely Darla and Blossom intend to do, Charming Friends. Invest in each other, and in you. When one is onto a good thing, one goes with it. And the support and general fabulousness of our friends has convinced us that it's time for the Business of Charm. None of us are about to make our fortune in cold hard cash but we have already discovered a treasure trove of fun, friends and fabulousness so hang it all - we might as well enjoy.

As always we are happy to hear from you so please let us know what you think! Stay in touch Charming Friends - and don't forget to check out our calendar from time to time.

Charmingly yours,
Darla and Blossom
